Our Public Services students participated in a simulated emergency incident designed to provide hands-on experience in responding to major incidents.
The simulation involved a road traffic collision, where students adopted the role of Uniformed Protective Services and respond to 999 calls.
“We believe that practical simulations are crucial for developing the competencies required in protective services. This exercise will not only test their knowledge but also their ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions.”
The exercise aims to enhance the students’ practical skills and preparedness for real-life emergencies. Participants were tasked with managing the scene, providing first aid, securing evidence, and coordinating with other emergency services. The simulation is part of their comprehensive training program, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle various challenges in their future careers.
Kelly Dixon, Public Services Teacher, said: “We believe that practical simulations are crucial for developing the competencies required in protective services. This exercise will not only test their knowledge but also their ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions.”
