This week marks Global Entrepreneurship Week, making it the perfect opportunity to introduce a few of this year’s Barnsley College (BC) Futurepreneurs!
Our BC Futurepreneurs programme, an inspiring initiative designed for students who are ready to turn their entrepreneurial dreams into reality.
Through this programme, students can participate in exciting entrepreneurial challenges to unlock and accumulate funding. Our team takes care of managing purchases on your behalf so students can focus on what matters most – growing their business.
Antilina Mutowa, a Level 3 Health and Social Care student, applied to join the BC Futurepreneurs programme with a vison to turn her business, Svenja, into her full-time career. Driven by a passion for paving the way in the fashion industry, she is determined to own a business and be in full control of her career, free from the constraints of working under others. She said: “My biggest role model in the business world is Emma Grede. She is a self made millionaire who inspires me to chase my business dreams.”
Milan Balazs, a Legal Services T Level student, has a business idea to sell gym and street wear. He was inspired to join BC Futurepreneurs to be part of a network with like-minded individuals who share his entrepreneurial mindset. For Milan, success means having a strong social media presence or seeing people wearing his brand. His main motivation is the challenge of starting a business – people may shy away from taking the risk as they think they may fail instantly. He said: “One of my biggest role models is gym influencer and Gymshark Creative Director Of Lifting, David Laid – he is my idol.”
Paige Stones, a Management and Administration T Level student, dreams of owning her own clothing brand. She joined BC Futurepreneurs, seeing it as an excellent opportunity to secure funding to start her business. Her main motivation for owning her own business is her dream to succeed – she aims to become successful by being financially happy and having a global business. She said: “My biggest role model in business are my parents as they have their own small business and they have put so much hard work into it and no matter what they have never given up.”
Juliette Bland, a Level 3 Assessing Vocational Achievement student, joined Futurepreneurs because she started selling environmentally friendly items at local fairs and was inspired to apply for the programme because it combines education-based teaching with practical, business-focused learning, creating the perfect balance between academics and real-world. She said: “I don’t have a single role model in the business industry – I believe in worker own cooperatives so it’s impossible for me to answer!”
