Mahmoud scores dream career

Barnsley College University Centre Sport student, Mahmoud Haydar, has landed his dream career by becoming a Project Worker for Huddersfield Town Football Club.

Mahmoud has always had a keen interest in the sport and health industry and decided to study BA (Hons) Sport, Physical Education and Health Top-Up to further his knowledge and skills within the sector.

Mahmoud’s main role is to demonstrate a variety of skill sets from youth work, mentoring and counselling to working as a teaching assistant and classroom support through to sports coaching.

“I would recommend the Barnsley College University Centre to others for the outstanding work the tutors do with dealing with students and the amount of help they provide to make sure all the students are happy.”

He spent time working as an Assistant Football Coach at Hoyland Common Falcons J.F.C and a Coach at The Leeds United Foundation, where he gained confidence in delivering exceptional coaching, engaging people of different ages and from different backgrounds into sport and developed his knowledge of healthy lifestyles and physical activity.

Mahmoud said: “The course helped me gain confidence and knowledge about coaching and dealing with both young children, adults and the members of staff at the foundation.

“I would recommend the Barnsley College University Centre to others for the outstanding work the tutors do with dealing with students and the amount of help they provide to make sure all the students are happy.”
