Childcare support and information for all age of Students

Learner Support Fund

 

Students aged 16+ are able to receive support for childcare costs while studying at College.

Students aged 16-19

 

Students aged 16-19  and studying In education can receive support for their childcare costs of up to £180 per child per week. Student must apply for this funding via the gov website and submit the Childs Birth Certificate to be copied to Student Services.

Students aged 20+ and not applying for an Advanced Learner Loan.

 

Students in receipt of the Learner Support Fund for 19+ Students can also make an application towards Childcare costs while studying at the College.

 

*You must apply for and use any Government funded childcare before making an application to the LSF Childcare fund.

 

Students aged 20+ that are applying for an Advanced Learner Loan

 

Students in receipt of the Advanced Learner Loan can apply for the Learner Support Fund to receive Childcare funding support. Your household income must be below the £37,000 threshold for support.

 

*You must apply for and use any Government funded childcare before making an application to the LSF Childcare fund.

How to apply

Once you have submitted an application to the Learner Support Fund, please contact us via email on Studentfunding@barnsley.ac.uk to also complete a Childcare application form.

*Please note you cannot be entitled to Childcare funding until you have become entitled to the Learner Support Fund.
