About the event

Come along to our Year 11 Parent Information Evening on Wednesday 25 September to find out more about the options available for your child at Barnsley College and Barnsley Sixth Form College after they leave school.

The evening will run from 4.30pm – 7.00pm at Old Mill Lane, Church Street, Barnsley S70 2AX, with rolling presentations running throughout. A guide will be shared with you on the evening detailing which rooms to visit for specific presentations.

Please note, this evening is specifically for parents and/or carers only.

The presentations available to attend on the evening include:

Vocational and T Level Presentation

The Vocational pathways offer hands-on courses across different levels of study, from Bricklaying to Hairdressing, Esports to Childcare – and much more. Find out more about this pathway and routes in to Higher Education. T Levels offer a mixture of classroom learning, work experience and hands-on opportunities. Learn more about this pathway and how it could benefit your child.

Sixth Form Presentation

Students can study three subjects at A Level, offering a more traditional classroom and exam-based pathway. Find out whether this could be a good option for your child in this presentation.

Apprenticeship Presentation

For students looking to earn whilst learning, an apprenticeship can offer a fantastic opportunity. Come along to find out what is required, tips for finding an employer and what opportunities are available.

Student Services Presentation

Find out more about the support available for your young person, including funding, travel, work experience and health and wellbeing from our Student Services team.

Timings

Each presentation will be delivered at 5.00pm, 5.45pm and 6.30pm. These are repeat sessions, so you only need to attend each presentation that you are interested in once.

There is no need to book for this event.

Can’t Attend?

A virtual presentation will be delivered in October for those who are unable to attend. To register your interest in this, please contact our Information Unit.
