About the event
Are you aged 16-18 years old and not currently in full-time education? Want to develop those key skills and behaviours that employers are looking for? Barnsley College’s Get Work Ready programme could be the course for you.
What will I learn?
You will complete a Level 1 Award in Employability. Through this course you will develop skills in teamwork, communication and learn how to read the responses of those around you. You will also develop skills in resilience, learn how to present yourself and how to present information to others. You will have the opportunity to experience interviews and enhance your interview skills, making you more employable.
You will complete a first aid course and develop the skills required to respond to an accident or injury. You will also develop skills in digital literacy and relate this to the digital workplace.
You will also have the opportunity to select a vocational area of your choice and see whether this is an area you would like to develop a career or seek a job in.
The vocational areas available are Art, Design and Graphics, Business, Digital and Media, Childcare and Health, Fashion, Hair and Beauty and Performing Arts.
When does this start?
This programme starts in January 2023 and will run until June 2023. After this you may wish to join a full time study programme in September or progress on to an apprenticeship or other form of training.
