Esports student streams for 12 hours all for charity

Damien streaming for 12 hours

Our amazing Esports student, Damien Pedryc, raised £200 for The Children’s Hospital Charity close to his heart, with a 12-hour gaming stream.

“I decided to do a 12-hour charity stream for The Children’s Hospital Charity, as the charity has helped me out in the past and it’s very close to mine and my family’s hearts.”

The Level 3 Esports, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship student organised the event, held at College’s Esports arena, and brought together over 30 staff and students battling it out on EAFC 24 and Overwatch.

Damien said: “I decided to do a 12-hour charity stream for The Children’s Hospital Charity, as the charity has helped me out in the past and it’s very close to mine and my family’s hearts. The money raised will have a big impact, going toward new life saving machines and state-of-the-art building.

“During the whole process I had to develop my organisation, communication, and networking skills. Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me so far.”

Thomas Wilford, an Esports tutor at the College, added: “Barnsley College recently hosted a 12-hour Esports charity event, organised and streamed by College student, Damien. Students and staff battled it out in a range of esports fixtures, fostering a fun and competitive spirit. The event was a resounding success, raising £200 for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital.”
