ABC Award in Automotive Studies
This qualification has been designed to give the students a broad understanding of the automotive and engineering sector. The mandatory, core and self-development units help build this broad understanding, whilst the specialist units will allow students to develop practical skills in automotive and general engineering. This qualification will be assessed by using externally set and marked online tests, internally marked practical tasks and written assessments. There is also a written project which encompasses the synoptic assessment element to this qualification.
The curriculum will be based in the practical workshop and in the classroom, all students are expected to wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when in the workshop and safe, appropriate behaviour will be expected at all times as we will be working in a dangerous work environment, similar to that of a mechanical workshop.
