  • Participants will normally be either practising or aspiring team or cell leaders
  • Aged 19+
  • GCSE at grade C or above (grade 4 and above) in English and maths or equivalent
  • There are no formal educational requirements but learners should have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme

Course overview

This level 2 qualification in team leading is designed for aspiring team leaders who wish to develop their team leading skills and knowledge.

 

Course content

You will produce a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence in working in a team leading role.

You will study:

  • Principles of Team Leading
  • Understand Business
  • Understand how to communicate work related information.
  • Principles of managing performance and conflict in the workplace
  • Principles of Equality and Diversity in the Workplace
  • Principles of Developing working relationships with colleagues
  • Health and Safety Procedures in the workplace
  • Understanding how to develop and deliver a presentation.

 

Continuous assessment of evidence produced.

Access to Internet and PC

You will study online.

Successful learners may progress to a range of qualifications including the following:
  • Level 3 Award or Certificate in Leadership and Management
  • Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Leadership and Management.

Extra information

Part-time courses are only available for learners who are 19 years old and above. You may not have to pay for this course if you are employed but earn below £23,400 a year, or if you are unemployed and receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility which will be checked at enrolment.

This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.
