Duration

The course will run from Monday to Friday for 20 weeks, 9.00am to 4.30pm. The course will end on 31 July 2025.

Entry requirements

You will need to hold GCSE English and Maths qualifications at grade D/3 or above.

Course overview

If you want to specialise in plastering, this course is perfect for you. You will develop the skills and techniques needed in the plastering industry. Thanks to our partnership with British Gypsum, you will learn about the latest in plaster technology. This course focuses on practical skills development in line with industry standards and provides the essential knowledge required to be a plasterer. You will also develop key attributes for employment, broadening your career prospects.

Course content

The qualification is structured with the following units:

  • Health, safety and welfare in construction
  • Principles of organising, planning and pricing construction work
  • Running in-situ moulds
  • Fibrous plastering
  • Applying plastering materials to detailed interiors
  • Applying plastering materials to detailed exteriors
  • External Render

You will be assessed by on-going practical assessments in the workshop environment and you will complete theory exams to test your knowledge and understanding of the construction industry and plastering practices.

You will need to provide and wear steel toe-cap boots. All other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided
You will need to bring a basic stationery set to contribute to classroom sessions effectively.
