This full-time course commences in September and lasts for one year.
Successful completion of a Level 2 in Beauty Therapy or Level 2 in Nail Services.
You will achieve Nail Services Level 3 Advanced Diploma. (City and Guilds)

If you love make-up and nails, this course is for you! Learn to work in salons or become a self-employed Nail Technician. You’ll get advanced training in nail techniques like acrylic nails, UV gel, nail art, and using electric files. Plus, gain important skills in communication, business practices, and nail care. This course prepares you for a creative career where you can help people look after their nails.
There will be continuous assessment of practical work, both on and off the job, oral questions relating to practical work and written questions. You will also be required to maintain and submit a portfolio of evidence of work produced. Assessments are based on the ability to do the job.
You will be required to purchase a uniform, nail kit, manicure kit and text book. All kits are compulsory to attend and achieve the qualification. Further information will be provided at the interview.

This course is free for 16-18 year old learners.

Barnsley College has a range of sports opportunities for all students to take part in, gain professional training and compete nationally and internationally. You don’t have to be studying sport to get involved in the Sports Academy.

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.
If you are aged 16 – 19 and don’t hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which can be added to your study programme.
If you’re aged 19 or above and don’t hold a a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
