You can start at any time during the year. Classes are held 10.00am - 2.00pm on a Friday. The course duration will be individualised for each student.

Entry requirements

You must be aged 16-18 years old or 16-24 years if you hold an EHCP.

Course overview

In this program, you will develop essential 21st-century skills and rekindle your enthusiasm for learning. You will focus on personal and social growth, crucial for pursuing further education. Tailored sessions will address your individual needs, helping you reconnect with your educational journey. This course is designed for 16-18 year olds who are not currently in education, employment, or training, providing a supportive environment for personal development and academic success.

Course content

This highly personalised level study programme is for students who are currently not in education, employment or training and have become disengaged from education. This programme will run from a variety of community based locations and will focus on the personal and social development needed by each individual learner in a small group or 1:1 environment to allow them to access further study. Enrolment will be ongoing throughout the year.

You will be assessed by informal assessments throughout the programme.

All equipment will be provided.

The Hub, The Old Commerce House, Westgate, Barnsley, S70 2DJ.

Upon completion, you could progress onto further study within the College.
