Course overview

Junior Chefs Academy offers a cookery course for 10-16-year-olds. Learn from expert chefs who will teach you professional techniques and industry secrets. You’ll cook a main course dish using seasonal ingredients. The course includes cooking meat, fish, veggies, baking, food safety, and menu planning. Enjoy guest chef lessons and compete in cooking contests in top-notch kitchens. All ingredients are provided; just bring a large container to take your dish home.

Course content

During the cookery course on this day, young people will make from scratch kebabs, flatbreads and a slaw.

No assessment.

Please wear comfortable trousers a shirt and sturdy shoes, no trainers, plimsoles, or open sandals. College will provide an apron, ingredients and all other equipment. Please just bring along a large tub or two to take your dish home.

Upon leaving school, you can progress onto Culinary Skills Level 2.

How much does the course cost?

This course costs £40. There is no funding available for this course, so all learners must pay the full fee.
