This course can be started throughout the year, starting in September, and takes 18 weeks to complete. Days and times to be confirmed.
While there are no formal entry requirements for this course, you must have a good standard of English and Maths skills.
You will achieve an EAL Level 2 Award in Industrial Environment Awareness.

If you’re interested in the electrical industry, the Level 2 Electrical Technology course is a great start. You’ll learn about safety, electrical science, installation, and technology. You’ll study in our STEM centre and get hands-on experience. It’s designed with top employers to prepare you for an exciting career or apprenticeship in engineering. You’ll explore practical skills in electrical systems, machining, electronics, welding, and more.

On completion you could continue studying at a higher level or look for employment in the industry.

Part-time courses are only available for learners who are 19 years old and above. You may not have to pay for this course if you are employed but earn below £23,400 a year, or if you are unemployed and receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility which will be checked at enrolment.
This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.
