You will be assessed by online course work and exams in English and Maths.
The next start date for this course is September 2025. It will run for 36 weeks. You will attend college Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5.30pm until 8.30pm.
Students should be at least 19 years old. There are no other entry requirements.
On successful completion of the course, you will receive a Level 2 Certificate in a range of units:

This course is designed for those aged 19 years and over, who would like to return to education and have a genuine interest in working in the health or childcare sector. The course will prepare you to progress to higher-level courses in relevant subject areas.

You will also have the opportunity to study either Functional Skills or GCSE Mathematics and English.
You will be assessed by online course work and exams in English and Maths.
You will need stationery, a USB stick and a folder.
You could progress onto one of our Access to Higher Education programmes.
This course may be FREE to you subject to eligibility criteria. Funding is available for those claiming benefits or on a low wage. (Eligibility criteria applies.)

Part-time courses are only available for learners who are 19 years old and above. You may not have to pay for this course if you are employed but earn below £23,400 a year, or if you are unemployed and receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility which will be checked at enrolment.
This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.
