This course will start on Wednesday 25th September 2024. The course will start at 9am and finish at 4pm and run for 7 weeks (term time only).

Entry requirements

  • You must be 19 years old or above to study this course.
  • There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but you must have an interest in the use of drones.

Course overview

This drone course will cover the rules and responsibilities for operating drones, using airspace safely, and understanding aviation safety measures. You will also explore human performance limits, weather science, navigation, knowledge of unmanned aerial systems, operator duties, and flying procedures. These lessons will help you fly drones securely, comprehend the necessary regulations, and earn both the A2 Certificate of Competency and the General Visual Line of Sight Certificate after exams and practical assessments.

  • Mock Exam
  • Theory Exam (invigilated closed book)
  • Practical Flight Assessment

You will need to bring basic stationery items for the theory sessions. All other equipment is provided.

You can use your qualification for either recreational drone flying or for commercial reasons. You may also want to explore other part-time courses for adults.

How much does the course cost?

This course costs £750. There is no funding available for this course so all learners must pay this fee.
