You will use a variation of assessment methods to build up a portfolio of evidence from practical tasks or written work.
This course will start on Thursday 6 February and will run for 15 weeks, every Thursday between 9.00am and 4.15pm.
There is no requirement for you to have undertaken a specific qualification, but you should be able to demonstrate the skills and ability to study at Level 3. English and Maths at Level 2 will provide a good foundation for success.
Level 3 Certificate in Networking and Cybersecurity.
This qualification has been developed in partnership with industry professionals and is ideal for those wanting to develop and extend their digital and IT skills to prepare for different roles in the digital and creative industries within networking and cyber security.

This qualification can be studied as an additional course alongside a relevant apprenticeship and is designed for job roles in industries where specific digital and IT skills are required, such as finance, marketing, machining and manufacturing and other information gathering industries.
You must complete the mandatory Project Management unit and four of the specialist units listed below:

After successful completion of the course, you could move on to Higher Education, an apprenticeship or employment.
If you are aged 19 or over and this is your first Level 3 course, this course is free. If you already hold a Level 3 qualification, the price is £1645. You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to pay for these fees.
Full-time Barnsley College students aged 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees.

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.
If you are aged 16 – 19 and don’t hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which can be added to your study programme.
If you’re aged 19 or above and don’t hold a a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
