This course will start on 14 January and will run for 8 weeks every Tuesday between 6.00pm and 8.30pm (term-time only).

A general interest in Ceramics, this course is suitable for beginners.

Course overview

This fun, hands-on course is guaranteed to get your wheels spinning and enable you to create your very own work of art. Whether you are looking to start a new career or simply unleash your creativity, this part-time course could be your stepping stone.

Classes are usually held every September, January and April.

Course content

The course is aimed at those who are new to Ceramics wanting to explore the subject by starting with the basics and those who are wishing to gain confidence before extending their knowledge further.

You will be shown over an 8-week period  a variety of techniques and a basic introduction to ceramics and pottery which will enable you to improve and develop your skills in producing their own personal ceramic art and craftwork. This will include an introduction to different techniques utilised within this discipline and will include working with both clay and ceramic materials in our specialised college workshop.

There is no assessment.

All equipment will be provided, including an amount of clay. Additional clay can be purchased.

You could try your hand at one of our other Art and Design courses.

How much does the course cost?

This course costs £240. This fee includes 1 bag of clay needed for lessons. Additional clay can be purchased. There is no funding available for this course, so all learners must pay the full fee
