You should be at least 19 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements.
Level 2 certificate in Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health.

The purpose of this qualification is to increase your knowledge and awareness of children and young people’s mental health.
By completing the qualification, you will develop your knowledge of:
• Children and young people’s mental health in context
• Mental health problems commonly associated with children and young people
• The impact of mental ill-health on children and young people
• Support available to maintain mental wellbeing in children and young people
You must complete all of the mandatory units:
• Unit 1: Understand children and young people’s mental health in context
• Unit 2: Understand factors which may affect children and young people’s mental health
• Unit 3: Understand children and young people’s mental health concerns
• Unit 4: Understand the impact of children and young people’s mental health concerns
• Unit 5: Understand how to support children and young people with mental health concerns

You will need to provide your own stationery including pen, paper, folders and a USB stick.
We offer a range of other 10-week courses which you can progress onto, including a Level 2 certificate in Safeguarding and Prevent. We also offer Level 3 courses in Childcare and Education Professions which you could progress onto including Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) and the all-new Childcare T Level (Technical qualification).
This course is FREE for all learners.
Part-time courses are only available for learners who are 19 years old and above. You may not have to pay for this course if you are employed but earn below £23,400 a year, or if you are unemployed and receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility which will be checked at enrolment.
This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.
