Course overview

Dreaming of working with cool cars? This Defra-approved course is for you! It trains you in Automotive Refrigerant Handling, a must-have for all Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) Technicians. You’ll learn to handle refrigerants safely and meet the European Union F-Gas Regulation (EC842/2006 and EC307/2008). By finishing this course, you’ll prove your skills and be ready to handle AC systems in cars and vans. Get certified and start your journey as a MAC Technician today!

You will complete a practical assessment and an external online test set by IMI. The assessment ensures rigour and quality by measuring your underpinning knowledge, including knowledge of the F Gas regulations.

Successful candidates will be issued with a certificate which shows they are compliant and meet the requirements to continue practicing their trade.

You will need:

  • Overalls and steel toe cap safety footwear
  • Highlighter pens
  • A basic geometry set
  • A scientific calculator

This course costs £600.There is no funding for this course so all learners must pay the full amount.
