At Barnsley College University Centre, everyone works together to transform the lives of our students. We are always looking for ways to improve our services to ensure our students leave us with the skills and knowledge they need to be able to complete their course and progress to higher level study or employment.
Our students work exceptionally hard and its fantastic to see them graduate. Many go onto achieve great things and we love hearing how successful our alumni have become.

Success rates
In 2022/23:
- 85% of our HE students completed their award.*
- 36% of our students achieved either a 2:2, 58% were awarded a First Class Degree*
- 62% of students had a high-grade outcome and 78% completed a First degree overall*
The Overall framework achievement rate for Higher Level Apprenticeships is 54%, 3.9% above National Achievement Rates.*
Student satisfaction
The College achieved an overall positivity score of 90.38% in the 2022/23 National Student Survey (NSS).
Students reported high satisfaction levels across all areas, from teaching, learning and academic support to the learning community and student voice. Below are individual breakdowns of the College’s student satisfaction score in each of the area measured:

- 46% of our students were aged 21 or above*
- 73% of the cohort was female and 27% of the cohort was male*
- 24% had a declared disability or identified learning support need*
- 1% were studying on a part-time basis*
- 9% were from an ethnic background*
