The 16 to 19 tuition fund 2022 to 2023 academic year
The purpose of this statement is to set out how Barnsley College will utilise the 16-19 Tuition Fund in 2022-23. The fund is allocated to colleges to mitigate the impact on learning and achievement arising from COVID-19.
The funding will be used to support students on Study Programmes, aged 16-19 and 19-25 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) across all departments in the College. Eligible students have been prioritised based on criteria, including those who:
- have not yet achieved a grade 4 in English and/or Maths.
- have achieved a grade 4 in English and/or Maths and are from the 27% most economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The 16-19 tuition fund will be used to provide direct tuition which is additional to already planned programme of study for 22-23 Tuition will be delivered one-to-one and in small groups, up to 5 students.
Support is focussed on specific needs including learning and assessment has been negatively impact due to lockdown. Priority will be given to those with SEND or High Needs who have been specifically impacted due to specific needs or disabilities.
